Development and Activities Plan 2022

Our overall aim is to focus strongly on the camera craft and skills’ development of less experienced members’ imaging, with the assistance of outside experts’ input and/or guidance from experienced CCC members.
The Creative Topic is the theme for each month’s activities, which are:

  1. Illustrative examples of the topic, as captured by masters, will be sourced to motivate and help conceptualise each topic in local contexts;
  2. Identification of the thinking, planning and camera craft/skills and post processing needed to make excellent images on the topic;
  3. Zoom Workshop led by an expert or advanced CCC member to engage members on how to use and develop their skills/craft;
  4. Online tutorials linking to 1, feeding into the workshops;
  5. Find shoots that test the practice of craft/skills gained in each Creative Topic, online tutorial and workshop;
  6. Encourage great imaging in the Open section, emphasising freedom of choice and members’ personal interpretive imaging.
RATHER THAN FLOGGING CREATIVITY PER SE, WE WILL EMPHASIZE INTERPETING INSTEAD OF REPRESENTING REALITY, TRYING TO BE MORE IMAGINATIVE, CREATIVE AND IMPACTFUL.

WHAT DOES CCC PLAN AIM TO ACHIEVE IN 2022?

  1. TO BUILD ON OUR CLUB SPIRIT IN WAYS THAT FURTHER ENABLE US TO ENJOY OUR PHOTOGRAPHY AS A CLUB AND INDIVIDUALLY.
  2. TO ENRICH THAT ENJOYMENT THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF OUR CAMERA CRAFT/SKILLS AND POST PROCESSING MASTERY, THEREBY MAKING US MORE SUCCESSFUL AND COMPETITIVE.
  3. TO DRAW ON OUR OWN/OTHER EXPERIENCED AND SUCCESSFUL PHOTOGRAPHERS TO HELP US ACHIEVE AIMS 1 AND 2, SO THAT LESS EXPERIENCED MEMBERS CAN BE TAUGHT AND MENTORED ON A JOURNEY TO IMPROVEMENT.
Please note: The monthly Informal Discussion Group meeting, which we’ve been holding via Zoom, will be turned into a monthly skills development workshop run by an outside expert or CCC master photographer. These meetings will not be formal “lectures”. They will keep the open, interactive nature of the informal discussion group meetings of last year. Members will be encouraged to present their own images as before, to get expert critiques. Each session will start with the presenter showing and discussing examples of good and poor images, leading to members’ responses to these in relation to their own imaging and ways of drawing on the work of good photographers for ideas, inspiration and technical improvement
